Start of Ferratum EV technology promotion campaign with more events to follow.
Ferratum and STARD are moving on to the next stage of their technology partnership.
After the very successful start of the cooperation with the 2019 FIA World Rallycross Championship project, Ferratum and STARD are starting a new major phase of their cooperation focusing on EV technology in motorsport and beyond.
The first event of the Ferratum powered campaign is the participation in the 4th round of the Romanian “CN Super Rally” city racing series.
STARD will enter their brand new Ford Fiesta electRX race car, which is equipped with a 3-motor specification of the in-house developed #REVelution EV powertrain system. This event will show the already second possibility of application for the versatile package.
In this race, STARD will run the same specification as supplied to projektE, the world´s first all electric rallycross series starting from 2020.
Michael Sakowicz, Founder & CEO STARD:
“We have developed the all electric #REVelution powertrain system to be able to run in virtually any type of racing genre. The city center of Bucharest is the perfect place to further test and start to showcase the versatility of our powertrain system. There we will compete on a city race course against all sorts of race cars from circuit, over hillclimb to rally cars. This is pretty different to a rallycross circuit actually. We believe to have developed the most affordable and most flexible EV motorsport powertrain system on the market. On top of that, we are immediately enabling the use of OEM electric powertrain technology straight away. This is worldwide unique!”
Throughout the next months, we will demonstrate this at various opportunities, in many different ways. We´re just getting started.”
Finnish Fintech enterprise Ferratum Group, has deeper involvement in STARD´s EV technology than just being a sponsor.
The cooperation also includes an exchange of high level technological approaches, where more synergies exist between finance tech and advanced technologies then most people would expect.
Jorma Jokela, Founder and CEO of Ferratum Group:
”The sponsorship of Stard enables us great things – not only that we get to be mutually inspired by ongoing innovation in our respective fields and to see the amazing development, but also that we get to support the evolution of motorsport to a more sustainable direction. We are excited about this partnership, feel honored to be able to have contributed to this evolution, and are looking forward to seeing what is yet to come .”
The participation in the city race of Bucharest, will be the first ever competitive outing of STARD´s 612 HP all electric Ford Fiesta. Another world premiere after the 2016 victorious participation of STARD´s first Peugeot 207 based electric rallycross car at the ROAC (Race of Austrian Champions).
Behind the wheel of the yet one of a kind electric high tech race car will be Romanian TV celebrity and professional race driver Dani Otil, who is currently placed 2nd in the “CN Super Rally” Championship before the last round in Bucharest.
Manfred Stohl, Stohl Group President and owner:
“Ferratum is more than just a sponsor to us. Their involvement has massively helped to shape our EV and advanced tech development activities. Both our companies have taken an active pioneering role in their environment. While STARD is a pioneer in electric motorsport technology, Ferratum takes this role in finance technology and beyond. This automatically leads to certain approaches and methods being quite similar between those two fields of activity. At the same time, there is a lot to learn for each other from both sides. After the first year of cooperation we have already had great results from this partnership. We´re eager to explore this further.”
